Nursing program

  • The Nursing major at the York College of Pennsylvania prepares students for an ever-changing field. Pupils who graduate with a Bachelor’s in nursing can start their careers in a hospital or even clinic setting, begin their own medical business or even take their health care skills to those less privileged in areas around the world. You will have faculty teaching you — no teaching assistants — who will be familiar with your name. Almost all faculties have a terminal degree, too, and their student-to-faculty ratio is 36:1 as well as 8:1 for clinical.
  • York College is pleased to offer the most recent in technology to assist their students in combating every element of the human body. Through labs, simulation exercises and also clinical experience, their graduates can enter a challenging career.
  • The nursing training program at York College features five semesters of clinical. The clinical experiences slowly increase in time from a half day a week to two full days a week. Clinical courses include fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, obstetric nursing, psychiatric/mental health, pediatric nursing, community health nursing, acute care nursing, and nursing practicum. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education certifies the Baccalaureate training program at York College of Pennsylvania.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Admission is based on high school performance and SAT (Critical Reading and Math scores only) or ACT scores, as well as the personal character and qualities of the applicant. Typically, the middle 50% of their students fall between Minimum 1120 SAT total score or ACT 22 composite score with a 3.4 GPA .

  • Submit an official transcript of your secondary school grades.
  • Take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) of the College Entrance Examination Board or the American College Testing Program (ACT) by January of your senior year. Information about the examinations may be obtained from your high school guidance office.
  • You are invited to upload letters of recommendation and supporting documents to your application.
  • If you have received college credits at another higher ed institution, you will need to submit an official transcript.
