Nursing Program

Wharton County Junior College is exclusively relevant to provide an outstanding learning atmosphere for the pupil aiming to pursue a career as a registered nurse (RN). A devoted faculty, outstanding clinical amenities, and a demanding curriculum make us the appropriate choice for ADN education. Wharton Primary Campus offers acceptance one time a year for the Fall Semester. Application comes out in November as well as the due date is the 3rd Wednesday of March.

The college offers two training program tracks leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Nursing. The ADN training program is a twenty-two-month training program built to prepare the traditional student for practice as a Registered Nurse.

The LVN-ADN Transition training program offers an accelerated track for pupils who are already Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). Required nursing courses in this track can be finished one year after acceptance into the program.

The LVN-ADN Transition training program is a face to face twenty-four semester credit hour training program. There are no web-based courses. Upon completion of the required agenda and an extensive standardized examination in the concluding term, graduates receive the Associate of Applied Science Degree and are qualified to make application to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The training program is completely endorsed by the Texas Board of Nursing.
