Nursing Program
Weatherford College offers an associate of applied science (AAS) degree in nursing training program. After successful completion of specific general education courses, the nursing syllabus consists of 2 years of coursework.
With the successful completion of all course and also the training program requirements for the associate of applied science in nursing (AAS), you will earn an associate of applied science in nursing degree and meet the criteria for the National Council of Licensure Examination for the Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). Upon successful passing the NCLEX-RN, you will be eligible to apply for Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
The Weatherford College Associate Degree Nursing Training Program is endorsed by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON). The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Training Program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Submit Weatherford College application and official transcripts to the Office of Student Services. Student must meet TSI requirements.
- Allied Health application with official transcripts from all colleges attended and passing TEAS scores.
- Completion of all prerequisite courses: BIOL 2401, ENGL 1301, PSYC 2301, PSYC 2314.
- GPA of 2.5 or above on prerequisite courses.
- Science courses (BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, and BIOL 2420) must have been taken within 5 years prior to admission. If BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, or BIOL 2420 are older than 5 years but less than 10 years, there is a comprehensive A & P and/or microbiology test available through our Testing Center that if passed on one (1) try will lead to acceptance of courses as long as courses meet the required minimum GPA for prerequisites. Cost of test is $25.00. Please call the Weatherford Campus Testing Center at (817) 598-6383 to make an appointment.
- Completion of the TEAS entrance exam with a minimum score of 70% on the reading section. Additionally, the Adjusted Individual Total Score must be equal to or above the Mean-National Average Score.
- Proof of first Hepatitis B immunization or positive titer with application.
LVN-RN Transition Program
- Submit Weatherford College application and official transcripts to the Office of Student Services. Student must meet TSI requirements.
- Allied Health application with official transcripts from all colleges attended and passing TEAS scores.
- Completion of all prerequisite courses: BIOL 2401, ENGL 1301, PSYC 2301, PSYC 2314.
- GPA of 2.5 or above on prerequisite courses.
