Nursing Program
By incorporating the art of nursing with bio-psychological science courses, the associate degree training program prepares the graduate for the national licensure examination to become a registered nurse (RN). After licensure, graduates will also be prepared for employment in lots of facets of the healthcare industry including hospitals, clinics and also long-term care amenities. After successfully completing the 2nd semester of core/technical nursing courses, get ready to take the Practical Nursing (PN) Licensure Examination and function as an LPN while continuing nursing studies.
All Associate Degree in nursing graduates take the same national licensing examination (NCLEX) before they can function as a Registered Nurse (RN). The National Council of State Boards of Nursing looks at two-year averages for first-time pass rates. Waukesha County Technical College maintains one of the highest first-time pass rates in southeastern Wisconsin. Also, the Licensed Practical Nurse-ADN is ideal for those who are currently a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) presently practicing in Wisconsin; this advancement track will allow Licensed Practical Nurses to enter the Associate Degree Nursing (A.D.N.) training program with advanced standing at 3rd semester based on past education and also experience.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- You are encouraged to attend an interactive Getting Started Session to confirm your career choice and begin the application process. Academic Advisors and Career Specialists will be there to assist you.
- Complete the application for admission. This can be done one of three ways:
- Online
- In-person at the Admissions office in the College Center, Room C-019
- Via paper application printed from the website and mailed or dropped off to WCTC
- Pay the $30 non-refundable application fee by check, money order, credit card, by phone or in person.
- Request appropriate transcripts.
- Send official high school, GED/HSED or college (if applicable) transcripts to WCTC. Transcripts must arrive at WCTC in their original sealed envelope; opened transcripts will not be accepted.
- Send official college and/or military transcripts, when applicable.
- University/college coursework completed outside the United States must be submitted to an educational credentialing agency for an official evaluation of earned foreign credentials. Only course-by-course evaluation reports will be accepted. Educational Credential Evaluators is an example of one such agency.
- Complete Placement Testing
- A placement test, ACCUPLACER®, is required to assist in appropriate placement in coursework. The test will assess your skills in Reading, Writing and Math. Sign up online or call 262.695.6215.
- Official ACT, Compass, Asset, or TABE Advanced test results may exempt an applicant from the full or partial test. We accept scores that are no older than five years.
- Placement testing may not be required, in whole or in part, based on completed college coursework. Courses must be in the specific testing area(s), and you must have earned a grade of C or better (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) in the class(es). Applicants must submit official college transcripts to verify successful completion of coursework.
LPN-ADN

- Complete the application for admission. This can be done one of three ways:
