  • Wagner College is a non-public, national liberal arts college in the New York City borough of Staten Island, United States of America.
  • Established in 1883 and also with a current enrollment of roughly 2,200 students, Wagner is known for its academic training program, the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts. The institution is regionally certified by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • Wagner College was established in 1883 in Rochester, New York City, as the Lutheran Proseminary of Rochester to train Lutheran ministers. Its 6-year curriculum was modeled on the German gymnasium. In the year 1886, it was renamed Wagner Memorial Lutheran College after a building in Rochester was acquired for its utilization by John G. Wagner in memory of his son.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Common Application or Wagner College Application
  • Personal statement/essay
  • Official High School Transcript(s)
  • Official Test Scores (SAT or ACT) – optional
  • SAT CEEB code: 2966
  • ACT code: 2984
  • Two letters of recommendations
  • Admissions Interview (recommended, not required)
  • $60 non-refundable application fee

Prerequisites (Cognates) for a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Nursing

(Traditional 4-Year and Second-Degree Programs)

  • Biology 209, 210 with Labs (2 units)
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II
  • Fall and Spring, Freshman Year
  • Psychology 101 or Sociology 101 or Anthropology 101 (1 unit)
  • Introduction to Psychology or Introduction to Sociology or General Anthropology
  • Microbiology 200 with Lab (1 unit)
  • Intermediate Learning Community
  • Only Spring Sophomore Year
  • Nutrition (1 unit)
  • Intermediate Learning Community
  • Only Spring Sophomore Year

In addition to the above courses:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Students entering the program after the Fall of 2016 will need to take the TEAS VI. You will be limited to one attempt and must score 60.0 or higher to be accepted into the program.

*Traditional Students- TEAS scores must be submitted before April 1.
