Traditional Students

A traditional student is considered to be someone who is under age 24 with no previous college or university experience.

To apply to an undergraduate Nursing program as a traditional student, you must graduate from an accredited high school and:

  • Have a GPA of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Earn a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) recentered score of 1,000 or above or an American College Test (ACT) composite score of 21 or above.
  • Successfully complete, with a grade of “C” or better, one year of high school algebra and biology, and one year of high school chemistry with a grade of “B-” or better.
  • Complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).

To apply to the RN-BSN program at USF, you must submit:

  • Proof of a current, active RN license.
  • An official transcript from an associate or diploma degree nursing program.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale is required.
