Nursing Program

The ADN program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and has complete authorization by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN).

Upon satisfactory completion of the ADN training program, you will receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and will be qualified to sit and take the NCLEX-RN (State Board Examination).

The training program is a two (2) year, regular training program lasting five semesters (four main semesters and one 10-week summer term). The program starts once each year in the fall semester only.

The University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College (formerly: Rio Grande College) are combined colleges in Rio Grande, Ohio, United States Of America.

The University of Rio Grande offers a selection of courses and also majors and is acknowledged in the region for its Fine Arts, Education and also nursing programs. Furthermore, its graduate training program in teacher education was one amongst the few national programs organized around Howard Gardner’s Theory of multiple intelligences.

It was established in 1876. The University of Rio Grande teams, nicknamed athletically as the RedStorm, are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, mainly competing in the River States Conference (renamed from Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2016).

Total estimated program cost is USD $20,120

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. Have completed Algebra, Biology (with lab), and Chemistry (with lab) courses with grade C or better (high school and college courses reviewed for eligibility)
  2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (high school GPA is used for applicants who have earned less than 12 semester hours of college credit at the time of application)
  3. Registered, eligible applicants will take the HESI A2. This is an academic content exam focusing on science (anatomy & physiology, biology, chemistry), math (basic), and reading comprehension/vocabulary/general knowledge
