Nursing program

  • The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing track at the University of Maine at Fort Kent is for students who transition from high school to college, or who want to transfer with some credit attained from other educational institutions. Or as non-traditional pupils who want to be considered for previously earned academic credit and life experience. Normally, this path takes four years to complete. Despite the fact that courses may be taken in the summer, summer classes are not needed to complete the training program requirements.
  • Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing- This path is meant for students who have an earned undergraduate baccalaureate degree. Pupils in this track plan to spend at least 14-months on the UMFK campus. The majority of courses within this training program path are in nursing whereby students develop upon the learning acquired in the liberal arts and sciences from their earlier earned undergraduate degree. To assist students success of the training program of study, several teaching modalities are used, including directed studies, traditional classroom, and also distance learning. Pupil success is premised upon the potential to be an inspired, flexible, and also self-directed learner. Enrollment as a regular student is a requirement in this path.
