Nursing program

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Admission to the Traditional BSN program is handled through the Office of Admission and is open to applicants who meet the general requirements for admission to the University of Miami as well as those listed below. Applicants must apply through the Common Application.

• Grade Point Averages (GPAs)
• Freshmen applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.7
• Transfer student applicants must have a minimum transfer GPA of 3.5 and a minimum clinical prerequisite GPA of 3.3 (see the list of clinical prerequisites in requirement 3 below)

• SAT and/or ACT Scores
• Minimum Scores:
• SAT = 1100 reading and critical math scores combined
• ACT = 24 composite score
• Freshmen applicants must submit official SAT or ACT scores
• Transfer student applicants with fewer than 30 college credits must submit official SAT or ACT scores; transfer student applicants with 30 or more college credits are not required to submit scores
• Clinical Prerequisites
• Transfer student applicants are considered for direct entry into the clinical components of the Traditional BSN curriculum (i.e., the third year) as space allows
• To be considered for direct entry into clinicals, transfer student applicants must complete the following requirements prior to matriculation:

• These 60 transferable credits must be completed in non-vocational, non-nursing courses at a regionally accredited institution with a grade of “C” or higher

*Note: All clinical prerequisites must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher. Applicants are allowed to repeat 1 prerequisite course for which they received a “C-” or lower.
