Suny-Niagara County Community College ADN-RN Nursing Program Prerequisites & Reviews

Nursing Program

The Niagara County Community College Registered Nurse training program is dedicated to the education of registered professional nurses along with the promotion of overall health in the community.

The Nursing training program offers clinical experiences in hospitals, health-care amenities, and community organizations in Niagara, Erie and also Orleans regions to provide pupils with essential clinical experiences in all areas of health-care.

Graduates of the training program meet the criteria to take the National Council License Examination (NCLEX-RN) for registered nurses via the State Education Division. The Registered Nurse training program has been certified by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission ever since 1976.

About The School

Niagara County Community College (NCCC) is situated in Sanborn, New York, United States Of America northeast of the City of Niagara Falls.

Niagara County Community College (NCCC) offers associate’s degrees in a number of programs. Niagara County Community College was established in 1962 and is sponsored by Niagara Region and SUNY. The new campus opened up in 1973.

Double admissions programs facilitate transfer to four-year schools upon successful completion of the two (2) year degree programs. The present President is Dr. James P. Klyczek.

Total estimated program cost is USD $21,774

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

All applicants (first time, readmit, transfer, and continuing students) must meet the following admission requirements and apply between September 1 and March 1 for the September class:

  1. High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  2. An overall high school average of at least 80 percent; cross-cumulative college GPA minimum 2.75
  3. Successful completion (minimum 80 percent or B) of:
  • a high school-level biology or chemistry course OR
  • minimum C or better college-level biology (BIO 109/109L or BIO 117/117L or BIO 213/213L) or chemistry course (CHE 120/CHE 111)
  • The most recent BIO or CHE grade is the grade that will be considered and each course may be repeated only once, regardless of institution.
  • For students who took BIO 213, BIO 214, BIO 221 five or more years ago, the course must be repeated.
  1. Satisfactory completion of all academic foundation requirements.
  2. Current high school students with 12 college credits or less will have  their overall high school GPA used for ranking. Those applicants who have more than 12 college credits will have the overall cross-cumulative college GPA used for ranking.
  3. Students who have had a grade of less than passing in two nursing courses at NCCC or other nursing programs are not eligible.
