About the school

  • Catherine University (popularly referred to as St. Kate’s) is a non-public Catholic liberal arts school, situated in St. Paul and also Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Of America. Founded as one of the first schools of higher learning designed for women in the Midwest, the school was referred to as the College of St. Catherine until the year 2009. At present St. Kate’s offers baccalaureate programs for women plus graduate and also associate programs for men and women.
  • Catherine University was established as the College of St. Catherine in 1905 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, under the authority of Mother Seraphine Ireland.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

To be eligible to apply for the 21-month nursing major, you must first enroll as a pre-nursing student in the College for Adults to take prerequisite and other courses required for the BSN degree.

After enrolling in prerequisite courses—some of which are only offered at St. Catherine University—you’ll complete a second application to start the nursing major in the fall. A limited number of spaces are available in the nursing major.

There are two pre-nursing options in the College for Adults: you may enroll as a bachelor’s-level student, or you may enroll in the associate Health Science degree program. All nursing prerequisite courses are available in either option. The Health Science degree is an option for students with less college experience who want to earn an associate degree on their way toward completing a bachelor’s in a healthcare field.
