Springfield Technical Community College is famous for the Patient Simulation course executed for the Associate Degree in Nursing Program. So many students have traveled around the world to present a simulation work, and you too can be one of them.
The program will enable you to earn more skills and also get a well-built practical experience. Upon graduation, you can take the NCLEX exam. The success rate is as high as 94%.
About the school
Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is a polytechnic community college in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, sited in the city of Springfield precisely at Armory National Park that was founded by George Washington and Henry Knox during the Revolutionary War.
Today, Springfield Technical Community College occupies a lot of the buildings previously used by the U.S. Armory at Springfield before its closure in 1969.
It was formerly known as the Springfield Technical Institute sited a few blocks to the west, the institution moved, extended, and adopted its present name upon the Armory’s closure in the year 1969. While the college uses 35 acres of the total 55 acres site, 20 acres remain under the control of the U.S. National Park Service for momentous preservation. So many historic buildings have been converted to classrooms adding up to newer facilities that are being built on the site.
Total program cost plus living expenses for in-state residents is around $35,412, and out-of-state students who don’t have Massachusetts residence can expect a cost around $48,432.
Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- High School Diploma, HiSET or GED
- Completion of Algebra 2 (grade 80 or higher), or its equivalent, at a high school or accredited college, placement at the College-math level on an STCC placement exam, or a higher level math course (grade of 77+) within the last five years (5 year requirement may be waived if you have taken a higher level math).
- Successful completion of TEAS V (The Test of Essential Academic Skills, version 5) within the past three (3) years: (Note: For the Fall 2017 admission both the TEAS V and new version called “ATI TEAS” will be accepted).
- This assessment test is offered at STCC.

- It is strongly recommended that the preparation book be utilized. The book is available in the STCC bookstore or on-line through ATI.
- It is recommendedthat individuals not attempt to retake the TEAS test prior to 30 days since the last sitting, allowing time for remediation. The highest score earned will be applied for admission evaluation if multiple attempts are made.
- Do not wait for the last month to test. FEBRUARY 1ST of the application year is the deadline.
- The required minimum composite score is “ATI Academic Preparedness Level: “Proficient”. (Less than proficient score may be given consideration if you are competitive in other areas. Refer to “Tips: How to Strengthen your Application” to identify what constitutes a more competitive applicant ).
- A paper copy must be included in your application packet.
- Test of English as a foreign Language Internet-Based test (TOEFL IBT):Beginning with application for the fall 2017, all applicants to the Nursing program whose native language is not English or those who have not completed K-12 in the U.S. must complete the TOEFL IBT at an authorized testing center.
