Nursing Program

The Associate Degree in Applied Science- Nursing at Spartanburg Community College grooms responsible, skilled, and also technologically ready nurses who are able to provide high-quality nursing care in varied health-care settings, progress in the practice of nursing, and also function as an essential associate of the health-care team.

The ADN program can assist you become part of the swiftly developing health-care profession. This nursing education training program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

About The School

Spartanburg Community College is a public, suburban, two (2) year extensive, open-admission college of higher education serving the people of Spartanburg, Cherokee, and also Union regions in Upstate South Carolina, USA.

It was established in the year 1963. In summer 2009, Spartanburg Community College declared plans for a downtown Spartanburg presence, making use of the historic Evans Structure. The objective was to provide a campus that would offer suitable access for under-served city inhabitants. Classes started at the Downtown Campus in fall 2013 after constructing renovations were finished.

Total estimated program cost is USD $12,176

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • You must FIRST apply to SCC and be accepted.
  • All official transcripts MUST be sent to the Registrar’s office for evaluation a MINIMUM of 30 days before the Nursing program application date.
  • There is no application test, such as the TEAS, required for admission into the nursing program at this time.
  • Minimum college GPA required for consideration is 2.50 (4.0 pointscale). Students who receive AP credit or credit by exemption examination (E) will receive 4 points for 4 credit hour courses and 3 points for 3 credit hour courses for the REQUIRED courses only.

Prerequisites courses:

  • MAT 110 COLLEGE ALGEBRA OR MAT 120 PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS
  • BIO 210 Anatomy & Physiology I- Required for graduation (cannot be >7 years old) CANNOT take BIO 215 as substitute
  • BIO 211 Anatomy & Physiology II– Required for graduation (cannot be >7 years old) CANNOT take BIO 216 as substitute
  • BIO 225 Microbiology– Required for graduation (cannot be >7 years old)
  • ENG 101 English Composition I- Required for graduation
  • ENG 102
  • English Composition II- Required for graduation
  • PSY 201 General Psychology- Required for graduation
  • CPT 101 Introduction to Computers – Required for graduation (cannot be >5 years old)
