Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
TRADITIONAL BSN
- Admission to the university. (Admission to Spalding University does not guarantee you admission to the nursing program. You must apply to the School of Nursing.)
- Minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 in college courses
- Successful completion of the TEAS(minimum of 60 percent on reading and math)
- Successful completion of a certified assistant (CNA) courseor demonstration of competencies
- Completion of all University Studies prior to the start of upper division nursing courses
- A grade of C or higher is required in the following prerequisite courses:
- BIO 261 Human Anatomy
- BIO 262 Human Anatomy Lab
- BIO 263 Human Physiology
- BIO 264 Human Physiology Lab
- BIO 256 Intro to Microbiology
- BIO 257 Intro to Microbiology Lab
- PSY 103 Psychological Systems
- PHIL 154 Ethics
- US 100 Successful Student Strategies
ACCELERATED BSN
- Admission to the university. (Admission to Spalding University does not guarantee you admission to the nursing program. You must apply to the School of Nursing.)
- A bachelor’s or higher degree in another discipline
- Minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher in college courses
- Successful completion of a certified assistant (CNA) course
- A grade of C or higher is required in the following prerequisite courses:
- BIO 261 Human Anatomy
- BIO 262 Human Anatomy Lab
- BIO 263 Human Physiology
- BIO 264 Human Physiology Lab
- BIO 256 Intro to Microbiology
- BIO 257 Intro to Microbiology Lab

- BIO 301 Pathophysiology
- HS 350 Research in Health Science or an equivalent research course
RN TO BSN

- An active, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
TEAS Exam
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is used as part of the admissions process for the School of Nursing. Please check with the School of Nursing to see if the TEAS exam is required for admission to your program.
