Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Nursing Training program prepare students to fill an essential role in the health-care industry with a profession as a professional registered nurse (RN). Graduates are qualified to apply for the NCLEX-RN examination. The Associate Degree Nursing Training program can be fulfilled in 2 years.

About the school

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKCTC), situated in Cumberland, Kentucky, United States Of America, is among the sixteen (16) two-year, open-admissions colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. It was established in 1960 as the Southeast Centre of the University of Kentucky by Senator Richard Glenn Freeman. His spouse Dolores Freeman was the very first individual to register. Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College is certified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Before the name was modified in the year 2004, Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College was referred to as only Southeast Community College.

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College operates campuses in Cumberland, Middlesboro, Harlan,  Pineville, and Whitesburg.

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College offers 3 Associate’s degree programs: Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS) and Associate of Applied Science (AAS).

They also offer a comprehensive list of diploma and certificate programs.

Total estimated program cost $10,430

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

 

  • Attend a pre-admission nursing conference with the nursing program coordinator or designee.
  • Submit the following documentation by March 1, 2017 to:

  • Current application of admission to the college. This is on the college website www.southeast.kctcs.edu If you have been out of school a semester or more, please complete a new application. (If you are currently enrolled at another KCTCS Community College please do a paper application, only for SKCTC, if you are admitted the application will then be processed to change home school).
  • Application for admission to the nursing program.
  • Un-official High School Transcript or indication that the applicant has or will complete a high school course of study or a passing GED official score report.
  • Unofficial transcripts for KCTCS colleges and Official transcripts for all other colleges, universities and/or vocational schools attended since high school.
  • Proof of Nurse Aid via transcript, or KBN certified list.
  • Results of the ACT, and NLN pre-admission (PAX) RN Exam Scores.
  • All above required information and forms must be submitted by the applicant at one time in one packet.
