Southeast Community College ADN-RN Nursing Program Prerequisites & Reviews

Nursing Program

Admittance to the Southeast Community College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Training program is competitive. A maximum of twenty-four pupils will be accepted, two times yearly.

The objective of the Associate Degree Nursing training program is to prepare pupils for a career in qualified nursing and provide an educational base for additional academic study. The objective of the training program is to graduate an entry level practitioner who can deliver direct nursing care as well as contribute to health-care services.

Upon Successful completion of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) training program, you will be ready for a rewarding nursing career in a number of work settings.

Southeast Community College training program is available part-time or regular, with two-quarters of requirement courses and five regular quarters of nursing core courses. It will prepare you for a profession as a Registered Nurse (RN). The intensive curriculum contains anatomy, mathematics, chemistry, microbiology, physiology, as well as other general education courses as an important basis for the nursing core courses.

About the school

Southeast Community College (SCC) is a community college system situated in the southeast portion of Nebraska, United States.

Southeast Community College initially commissioned in 1941 as Fairbury Junior College in Fairbury, Nebraska, suspending operations all through World War II and reopening in 1946.

Southeast Community College was structured in 1973. In the year 1975, Southeast took over the Beatrice campus of John J. Pershing College, which had closed off in 1971. In 1980, the agriculture training program relocated from the Milford campus to Beatrice. In 1986, the authentic Fairbury site was shuttered and combined into the Beatrice campus.

The college comprises of 3 campuses and more than twenty off-campus sites in fifteen counties. The campuses are situated in the following cities:

Lincoln, Nebraska (9,000 students)

Beatrice, Nebraska (900+ students)

Milford, Nebraska (900 students)

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Academic Performance:

GPA and grades earned in science prerequisites courses will be evaluated.  Points will be awarded for the highest grade earned on transcripts submitted.

Applicants must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher in science prerequisite courses and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in the general education and support prerequisite courses. Students are required to submit all official transcripts from any high school/GED, university, or college attended for any course(s) required for admission.
