Nursing Program
NWCCD’s Sheridan College offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN Degree) where the students can start courses towards their Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN). This feat is made possible via the college’s partnership with the University of Wyoming (UW). The Associate Degree in Nursing equips students to be a Registered Nurse (RN).
Upon completion, graduates are fit to provide compassionate and competent nursing care, manage patients care to facilitate healing, practice nursing according to well-defined ethical and professional standards.
The Associate Degree Nursing program is endorsed by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing with the accreditation of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Upon successful completion of the Associate Degree program, graduates are qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
About the school
Sheridan College is run by the Northern Wyoming Community College District and comprises the main campus in Sheridan, the Gillette Campus, and outreach programs in Johnson, Sheridan, and Campbell Counties. Sheridan College with Gillette Campus offer associate of science, an associate of arts and associate of applied science degrees, certificate programs, and other program tracks that allow students to transfer to a university or a four-year college. Additionally, students may choose to enroll in professional development courses, career training, and vocational/technical programs.
NWCCD serves nearly 5,000 students every year across three nations. The two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees and one-year Certificates of Completion (CoC) equip students to enter the labor force seamlessly. Also, it equally offers professional development classes, skills-focused industry training, and personal enrichment courses.
Total program cost for in-state students is about $24,400 and $33,400 for out-of state students.

In order to be accepted into the nursing programs at Sheridan College or Gillette College, individuals must complete a variety of prerequisites. Individuals must first apply directly through the Northern Wyoming Community College District. Upon completion of the application to Northern Wyoming Community College District, individuals must apply to the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing program at either Sheridan College or Gillette College. Individuals must then submit a high school transcript or a GED certificate prior to being accepted.
Individuals must hold a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above in all courses which are applicable to the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree. If an individual has attended more than one college, a cumulative GPA will be calculated combining all of the college grades. Individuals must have completed English course with a grade of “C” of above and must have completed college level math with a “C” or above. Applicants must have completed Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology with a “C” or better as well and must have a “Proficient” or above on the TEAS exam.
