Established in the year 1856 by then-Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley and named after his aunt, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Seton Hall is the most ancient diocesan university in the USA.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

High School Applicants 

High school students applying to the College of Nursing must have completed at least one unit in biology and one unit in chemistry, in addition to the other university requirements for admission.

Transfer Applicants

A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, along with a satisfactory score on the College of Nursing admissions examination is required of students transferring from other colleges, or from other majors at Seton Hall.  Further information about the admission examination is available from the College of Nursing’s Assistant Dean for Student Success.  All science courses required in the BSN curriculum must be completed at a 4- year college or university, with an earned grade of B or higher. Science courses that do not meet these criteria must be taken here at Seton Hall.

Transfer admission to the pre-licensure nursing major is on a space-available basis. Students who qualify for admission as transfer students will be admitted to the CON pre-licensure B.S.N. program once yearly, after the spring semester, and will enter the major in the fall of the following academic year.

English as a Second Language

All applicants to the College of Nursing whose native language is not English must have taken the TOEFL iBT® test within the past five years and achieved minimum scores of 22 in Reading, 22 Listening, 26 in Speaking and 24 in Writing.
