Nursing program
The associate degree nursing program is endorsed by the Michigan Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
This program delivers advanced clinical practice and nursing theory in tending for families, adults, and children and to prepare graduates for entry-level positions in long-term care facilities, hospitals, home health, medical offices, and other community settings.
Students who complete the associate degree nursing program satisfactorily are qualified to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) as a step in gaining licensure as a registered nurse (RN)
About the school
Schoolcraft College is an all-inclusive community-based college situated in Livonia, Michigan, United States with a satellite campus in Garden City, Michigan. Schoolcraft College was founded in 1961.
Initially named Northwest Wayne County Community College, the name of the college was reformed because of the length. On February 6, 1963, the college with authorization changed the name to Schoolcraft College, after an American geologist Henry Schoolcraft.
The aim of the College is to deliver a transformational learning experience planned to grow the capacity of people and groups to accomplish social, intellectual, and economic goals.

The nursing program has pre-admission and admission requirements that are reviewed annually. It is essential to contact the Admissions and Welcome Center for a copy of the current requirements. Courses must be taken in sequence.
A minimum grade of 80% in each nursing course is required for progression to the next course. Academic courses other than nursing must be finished according to program requirements. Computer lab use is required in this program. See “Academic Computing Labs” in this catalog for policy requirements.
This program is offered at the Livonia Campus. Students are admitted once a year, at the beginning of the fall semester. All courses are not offered each semester. Students should work with an academic advisor or counselor to develop a schedule that will work for them.
Students who satisfactorily complete all college and program requirements qualify for an associate in applied science degree.
