Nursing Program

The Santa Fe Community College Nursing Training program is endorsed by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Pupils who effectively complete the associate in applied science (AAS) in Nursing degree meet the requirements to apply and take the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN) to be eligible for licensure as registered nurses (RNs) in New Mexico, United States. Pupils who intend to take the licensure exam in a different state are encouraged to contact that state’s board of nursing for specific demands.

NOTE: associate in applied science degrees are built to prepare pupils for entry-level roles in specific careers; they are not usually meant to transfer to four (4) year institutions.

Upon completion of this training program, pupils are able to:

  • Engage in high-quality nursing practice which is patient-centered and also culturally suitable for persons, families, and also communities.
  • Integrate concepts of quality development and safety into nursing practice within health-care establishments and systems.
