San Joaquin Delta College ADN-RN Nursing Program Prerequisites & Reviews

San Joaquin Delta College is a community college in Stockton, California, United States, established as Stockton Junior College in 1935. In the year 1948, it became Stockton College. Around the year 1963, it became San Joaquin Delta College. San Joaquin Delta College is a certified two (2) year college that provides undergraduate studies. It is situated at 5151 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California, United States Of America.

The college provides transferable Associate of Arts degree programs such as Transportation; Logistics and others, such as liberal arts, social sciences, and much more.

In August 2009 San Joaquin Delta College commissioned a satellite campus in Mountain House, San Joaquin County, California, United States. The campus is more typically referred to as the South Campus at Mountain House and is situated at 2073 S. Mountain House, California, USA. It includes twenty-four portable structures, most of which function as classrooms. It also has an administrative structure and a student lounge.

NURSING

The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at San Joaquin Delta College prepares students with entry-level competencies and knowledge to practice in the role of a Registered Nurse in many different health-care functions. Graduates are awarded an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN to obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California. The training program consists of 4 semesters (2 academic years) of nursing coursework after completion of training program required courses and selection into the program.

The Associate in Science Degree in Nursing is licensed and authorized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Total program cost is USD $9,340

 

 

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include: 

  1. Academic degrees, relevant health care license or certificates held by applicant, health care work experience in direct patients care of healthcare volunteer experience in direct patient care.
  2. GPA in prerequisites coursework- Grade of “C” or better with a minimum 2.5 GPA in the science prerequisites: Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology including lab for each course.
  3. Minimum 2.5 GPA in written Composition (Eng 1A or 1B or 1D) and Human Development.
  4. Proficiency or coursework in languages other than English
  5. Approved diagnostic assessment/readiness tool, Test of Essential Academic Skills (a minimum of 62% TEAS Version V)
  6. Math prerequisites coursework- completion of math 092(s) or higher with a grade of “C” or better
