Salem Community College ADN-RN Nursing Program Prerequisites & Reviews.

Nursing Program

Created for pupils who are licensed practical nurses (LPNs), the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Nursing is a four (4) semester training program (40-weeks) that features general education and also core nursing courses.

The Quality Safety Education for Nursing (QSEN) proficiency are employed to improve the student’s knowledge of evaluation, attitudes, and also associated skills that mirror professional practice to enhance good quality and safety in healthcare.

Graduates are ready to take the NCLEX-RN examination. The training program is certified by The New Jersey Board of Nursing and is certified until Fall 2016 with Caution by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

About the school

Salem Community College (SCC) is a certified, co-educational, two-year public, community college situated in Salem County, New Jersey, United States Of America. Salem Community College’s primary 11-acre campus is in Carneys Point Township.

Salem Community College is accredited to award associate degrees—Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Fine Arts and also Associate in Applied Science—and certificates in more than forty business, liberal arts, practical nursing (PN), scientific glass technology, and technology programs of study. it was founded in the year 1958.

Total estimated program cost is USD $13,650

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Step 1 – Apply to SCC

  • Complete and submit a SCC Admissions Application
  • Submit official high school transcript or GED, along with official college transcript (if applicable)
  • Register to take the ACCUPLACER placement test or provide proof (contact Admissions for exemptions)
  • Submit proof of immunizations for measles, mumps and rubella (if born after 1956)

 Step 2 – Preparing for ATI TEAS

  • Start studying for ATI TEAS – Nursing Entrance Exam
  • Topics include: Reading, Math, Science, English & Language Usage
  • Study Guides and practice exams can be purchased at SCC’s bookstore or ATI website
  • SCC offers Study Guides $67
  • ATI TEAS study manual and online practice assessments (form A & B

Step 3  – Sign up & take TEAS

  • Sign up for ATI TEAS – Nursing Entrance Exam cost $80 at SCC Dates & times are online
  • TEAS scores are valid for two years from the time taken
  • You may take the TEAS 3 times in 1 year
  • You may take the ATI TEAS test at another institution, however an official transcript must be sent to [email protected]
  • Step 5 – Complete Rubric & Checklist

Step 4- Complete Rubric & Student Checklist – refer to back of packet or go to:

  1. Add each section of rubric, if applicable, for the total number of points earned
  • Class grade(s)
  • TEAS “total” score
  • Work experience (ADN Applicants ONLY)
  • Salem County residents or current SCC students
  • Add up total points earned

Step 5 – Submit Packets

  1. Documents
  • Print ATI Transcript (if taken at SCC)
  • Submit official transcript to [email protected] (if taken at another institution)
  • Rubric Sheet
  • Student Checklist
  • Highschool / GED & College Official Sealed Transcripts (if applicable)
  • ADN applicants must provide a copy of an active LPN license
  • Make a copy of packet for your records
