Nursing Program
The Associate in Applied Science in nursing degree leads to registered nurse licensure. This thorough five-semester training program introduces the pupil to the Nursing profession through classroom, laboratory and also clinical learning experiences. Graduates meet the requirements to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become a Registered Nurse (RN).
The Bridge Alternative allows the transition from NREMT-Paramedic/LPN to Registered Nurse. Paramedics and also Licensed Practical Nurses can select a degree alternative that enables eligible pupils to bypass the very first year of clinical nursing courses. It is endorsed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Reading Score of: ACT Reading 19, ACT Compass 83, or Nelson-Denny 13
- All academic deficiencies cleared including Computer Science. Proficiency in Computer Science may be achieved through Advanced Standing or successfully passing CS 1113 Micro computer Applications with a “C” or better.
- Required GPA of the five (5) pre-requisite courses of 2.5 or higher. All prerequisites must be completed by the end of the Spring semester.
- Prerequisites coures:
- ENGL 1113 Composition I
- ENGL 1213 Composition II
- PSY 1113 Introduction to Psychology
- BIOL 2215 Anatomy/physiology
- Guided Elective (Choose one from this list: Speech; Intro to Sociology; Value & Ethics; or Logic)
- Required sciences must be completed within five years of nursing program admission
NREMT-Paramedic/LPN to RN
- Reading Score of: ACT Reading 19, ACT Compass 83, or Nelson-Denny 13
- All academic deficiencies cleared including Computer Science. Proficiency in Computer Science may be achieved through Advanced Standing or successfully passing CS 1113 Microcomputer Applications with a “C” or better.
- Required GPA of the nine (9) prerequisite courses of 2.5 or higher. All Prerequisites must be completed by the end of the Spring semester.
- LPNs who graduated from a non ACEN accredited practical nursing program and
Paramedics who have graduated without a degree in Emergency Medical Services will need to earn a satisfactory score on a Fundamentals of Nursing exam. LPNs who graduated from an ACEN accredited program and Paramedics who have a degree in Emergency Medical Services are exempt from taking the Fundamentals of Nursing exam.
