Nursing Program

The A.S. Nursing training program in Rivier University prepares pupils to become registered nurses (RNs). Registered nurses (RNs) provide direct patient care; they teach and give professional guidance to patients on their health problems, and offer support to patients and also to their families.

Graduates meet the requirements to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and to assume starting nursing positions in acute-care facilities, hospital, extended-care facilities, and other organized health-care functions.

The A.S. Nursing offers night classes and night or weekend clinical rotations, enabling pupils to work regular or part-time while going for their degrees. Beyond classroom learning, the program comprises of comprehensive hands-on experience in clinical settings and also well-equipped simulation laboratories.

Licensed Practical Nurses are invited to apply for advanced placement in the associate degree training program. When accepted and requirements are satisfied, pupils are exempt from 100 level clinical courses.

About The School

Rivier University, initially Rivier College, is a non-public Catholic liberal arts university situated in Nashua, New Hampshire, United States Of America. Named in respect of Blessed Anne-Marie Rivier, the foundress of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Rivier College was established in the year 1933 by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson, New Hampshire, United States.

In the year 1941, the college relocated to its present site in Nashua where it turned Rivier University on July 1, 2012. It turned co-ed, admitting its very first male undergraduate pupils in 1991. Rivier University has four residence halls, which can hold up to roughly 422 pupils. Rivier offers intercollegiate club sports and also has a student routines office, a multicultural office, counseling center, career advancement center, and campus ministry.

Total estimated program cost is USD $15,280

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. High School Courses Required
  • Chemistry
  • Biology or A&P
  • Algebra I
  • Additional Mathematics Course
  1. SAT or ACT
  2. TEAS V (only if no SAT/ACT within last 6 years)
  3. Official College Transcript(s)- Submit transcripts from all institutions previously attended
  4. Letter of recommendation- Recommendation may be from a guidance counselor, teacher, or advisor concerning academic ability and character. Two letters of recommendation are required for transfer nursing students.
  5. Application for Admission- Non-refundable $25 Application fee
  • Rivier’s application, or
  • The Common Application

Applicants to nursing who do not meet the admission criteria but are otherwise admissible to the University may be offered admission to the Pre-professional Healthcare Program.
