About the school

  • Rivier University, formerly Rivier College, is a non-public Catholic liberal arts university situated in Nashua, New Hampshire, United States Of America. Named in respect of Blessed Anne-Marie Rivier, the foundress of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Rivier College was established in the year 1933 by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson, New Hampshire, United States. In the year 1941, the college relocated to its present site in Nashua where it turned Rivier University on July 1, 2012.
  • It became co-ed, admitting its very first male undergraduate pupils in 1991. Rivier University has four residence halls, which can hold up to roughly 422 students. Rivier offers intercollegiate club sports and also has a student routines office, a multicultural office, counseling center, career advancement center, and campus ministry.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. Application for Admission: Rivier’s application or the Common Application;
  2. Applicants should apply on-line at no charge;
  3. Application essay-topics are listed on the application form; the writing sample on the Common Application will be sufficient;
  4. An official high school transcript. The transcript should include first quarter or first semester senior year grades and, if available, rank in class. Applicants who have earned a GED should submit an official copy of the test results;
  5. SAT I or ACT is required of nursing applicants, and optional for non-nursing majors. The Rivier University SAT code number is 3728;
  6. Adult applicants (23 years or older) are not required to submit SAT I or ACT scores but may be asked to take an alternative aptitude examination at the request of the Admissions Committee;
  7. One letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor, teacher, or advisor concerning academic ability and character. Adults who are returning to school after an extended length of time should obtain a letter of recommendation from an employer or professional in the community;
  8. A personal interview and campus tour are both highly recommended, although not required.

Following acceptance, all students must request that their high school send a final official transcript with the date of graduation to the Admissions Office as soon as possible.
