Nursing Program
The Traditional RN Track
This track is designed for students without an LPN license. If admission requirements are met, students will begin in the traditional track in the MANE program for the realization of their nursing degree.
The LPN to RN Track
This track is designed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who desire to become an RN. If admission requirements are met, LPNs will obtain advanced standing in the MANE RN program and will be awarded five credits towards the attainment of their nursing degree.
Upon successful entry into the MANE program at Riverland Community College, students will be dually admitted at Riverland Community College and Metropolitan State University. When students meet the 5th and 8th-semester benchmarks the completion of the program is successful. Students will conclude the first five semesters at Riverland Community College and will finish the 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters through Metropolitan State University on the Riverland Community College campus.
Upon completion of the 5th-semester benchmark and accomplishment of the Associate in Science in Nursing degree, students are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN and if successful, practice as a licensed Registered Nurse. Licensure is not needed to register for semesters 6-8 of the MANE curriculum to the realization of the baccalaureate degree.

Riverland Community College is a public two-year college with three campuses situated in southeastern Minnesota: Austin, Albert Lea, and Owatonna. Established in 1940, Riverland Community College offers different courses and educational programs and to more than 4,900 students annually via traditional, hybrid, and online delivery systems.
The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association accredites Riverland Community College andit is one of 31 institutions in the Minnesota State system.

Apply Online
You will be asked to:
- Create a Minnesota State account to complete theonline application.
· Submit High School Transcript or GED
- Contact your high school guidance office to request a transcript be sent to Riverland or submit a copy of your GED certificate.
· Submit Official College Transcripts
- Request official transcripts be sent to Riverland, if you want to transfer in credits from another college. Transcripts from other Minnesota State colleges will be downloaded and do NOT need to be requested.
Orientation/Assessment/Advising & Registration
New Student Registration (NSR) and Accuplacer is required for all new students. NSR includes orientation, Accuplacer testing, advising, class registration and information on accessing your Riverland accounts. The location of your registration session is determined by your program/major. The Accuplacer is a computerized test used to determine your readiness for college level course work. You may complete both NSR & Accuplacer on the same day or select two separate days. You must pre-register to attend.
Nursing ATI TEAS (6th Edition) Admissions Exam ALERT!
The ATI TEAS test for the nursing programs admission criteria has changed to a new version. In order to apply for any future nursing programs, you must have the newest TEAS test. The new version is called ATI TEAS (6TH EDITION). The old version was called TEAS V.
Submission of a TEAS V report with a future nursing application will be considered incomplete.
