Nursing Program

The Nursing training program at Pellissippi State Community College offers two pathways to the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing: the Traditional pathway as well as the Bridge pathway, Available at Blount, Magnolia, and also Strawberry Plains Campuses.

Pupils following the Traditional pathway may fulfill general education as well as other needed biology courses in addition to nursing courses, but it is advisable that the non-nursing courses be finished before pupils enter the Nursing training program.

Pupils following the Bridge pathway must have finished a diploma or perhaps other certification training program for Licensed Practical Nurse or EMT-P licensure and will earn credit for NURS 1150 Fundamentals of Nursing after finishing NURS 1170 Bridge to Registered Nurse Practice.

Graduates meet the requirements to take the nursing licensure examination (NCLEX) to become registered nurse (RN) and start a nursing career. The Nursing training program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The Bridge to RN Pathway is created as a 12-month training program.
