Nursing Program
The idea of our training program is to provide a possibility for the people enthusiastic about a nursing career to obtain the knowledge, competencies, and experience of the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse (RN).
Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates have attained the educational demands necessary to meet the criteria to take the national examination for registered nurse licensure, the NCLEX-RN.
Duration of Program is two years involving five Continuous Semesters. The ADN/RN training program is consciously seeking national accreditation with ACEN.

Paul D. Camp Community College, situated in the city of Franklin, Virginia in Southeast Virginia, United States, is among the 23 schools in the Virginia Community College System.
Established in 1970, Paul D. Camp Community College has campuses in Franklin and also Suffolk, Virginia (Hobbs Suffolk Campus), and a center in the city of Smithfield, Virginia, USA. The Franklin Campus started in fall 1971. Classes were conducted in Suffolk as early as 1979.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- Complete high school or get a GED [submit scores] (General Education Certificate). Must submit official copy of HS transcript and GED scores and all college transcripts to be considered for admission.
- Submit an application to Paul D. Camp Community College [PDCCC]
- Arrange for One OFFICIAL COPY OF EACH of the following to mailed to you and do not open the transcript, but include the OFFICIAL Transcriptsas a part of your complete application packet
- High school transcript or GED certification scores
- Any Health care Program/School transcript and license/Certification
- Transcripts from all colleges (except for PDCCC)or adult education centers Attended
- College Placement Assessment Tests if you have not done so already. If it has been several years, repeat the tests to update your profile. If you have already taken through Math 05 (algebra), you do not have to take the math placement test. If you have already taken English 111 (English Composition) at PDCCC or another college, you do not need to take the Writing Test. All students must take the reading placement test regardless of documented college courses.
- Take pre-requisites courses that are not already on your high school or college transcript. You must have:
- General Chemistry– high school or Chemistry 01 or a higher level college chemistry with a C or better
- General Biology –high school or Bio 01 or Bio 100 or Bio 101 higher level college general biology with a C or better.
- Math 05 or math placement test scores that does not recommend taking
throughMath 05.
- Any other developmental courses recommended by the placement tests (writingand reading test results).
- HLT 105, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, offered on the Suffolk Hobb Campus each semester, or EMT 109, CPR for Healthcare Providers, offered on the Franklin Campus each semester.
- Your CPR certification has to be through The American Heart Association, and be First Aid for Healthcare Providers.
- The AHA certification is good for 2 years.
- Maintain a cumulative and curricular GPA of 2.5 or better in the general education courses in the nursing curriculum. If you have not taken courses in the nursing curriculum, the GPA from your most recent education experience will be used. The grades on nursing required general education courses taken at other institutions will be used in the calculation of your curricular GPA.
- Three Letters of Professional Recommendation.
- Take the Kaplan Entrance Exam nursing preadmission test. Minimum of 45 percentile.
