Nursing Program
At Orangeburg–Calhoun Technical College, you will obtain high-quality classroom instruction and practical experience in state-of-the-art labs. Graduates of this training program meet the requirements to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The Associate Degree in Applied Science Nursing training program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN)

Orangeburg–Calhoun Technical College, formally shortened as OCtech, is the campus of the South Carolina Technical College System meant to serve Orangeburg and Calhoun regions, United States.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
Part I – Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible to move to Part II:
- Attend a Health Information Program (HIP) Session (face-to-face or online)
- Be a high school graduate or possess a GED (Official transcript must be submitted. If this information is already on file it does not need to be resubmitted)
- Earn a 2.5 cumulative GPA from the last college where 12 or more credit hours were attempted (not including developmental/remedial courses)
- Official transcripts from “All” colleges must be submitted (If this information is already on file it does not need to be resubmitted)
Part II -Applicants qualifying to submit an application must meet “One” of the following:
- SAT scores of 480 verbal and 480 Math OR
- ACT Reading of 19 and Math of 19OR
- Eligible for BIO 210, ENG 101, MAT 155 and have taken the ATI TEAS® or TEAS V- (Reading and Math only) with a minimum reading score of 65 and a composite score of 65 (average of reading & math). Students are allowed to take the TEAS test a maximum of two times for the year in which they are applying, UNLESS they participate in an approved TEAS Prep Course. Students participating in an approved TEAS Prep Course can take the TEAS test up to a total of four times during the designated application period. There is a minimum waiting time requirement of 15 days between each TEAS test attempt. OR
- Successful completion (minimum grade of C) of 13 credit hours from the listed Nursing/Health Science Core Courses (“ONE” of the courses used in the GPA calculation mustbe a science course): BIO 210, BIO 211, BIO 225, math required of program or higher, ENG 101, PSY 201, or PSY 203, with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Biology, math and computer courses must have been taken within 7 years of the application date (a waiver may apply, please see counselor for details). OR
- Completion of an Associate and/or Bachelor Degree or higher from a regionally or nationally accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Guaranteed Track Admission (GTA)-Applicants who have completed all of the following courses at OCtech, on their first attempt, with a program GPA of 3.25, within five (5) years, will be admitted to the program once all course work is verified by an Admission Counselor:
- ENG 101, PSY 201 & 203, BIO 210 & 211, MAT 155or higher and a Humanities Elective.
LPN-ADN TRANSITION

- Have an unencumbered PN license or
- Be a graduate of an accredited nursing program within the last 6 months and have a license by the program start date.
- Take the ATI RN Fundamentals Nursing Exam and score a Level 2 or higher
