Nursing Program
Ocean County College’s nursing training program is an organized, two-year curriculum of classroom study and clinical experience that prepares graduates for employment in a variety of health-care functions for example hospitals, sub-acute and long-term care facilities and many other health-care functions.
Successful completion of the training program results in the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and qualifies a student to sit and take the licensure examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) in New Jersey.
Employment Accessibility is dependent on market situations. The Ocean County College nursing training program has complete approval from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
About The School
Ocean County College (OCC) is an authorized, coeducational, two (2) year, public, community college situated in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States Of America. Its primary campus is in Toms River. Other sites comprise of the Southern Education Center in Manahawkin and also over 20 off-campus sites all through Ocean County. It was founded in the year 1969.
The present President is Jon H. Larson, who moved into office in the year 2000. Formerly, he was president of Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, United States. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Norwich University, and an M.A. together with Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
- BIOL130 Human Anatomy and Physiology I
- BIOL131 Human Anatomy & Physiology II
- BIOL232 Microbiology
- ENGL151 English I
- ENGL152 English II
- PSYC172 General Psychology
- 1 of the following 2 Chemistry courses is required: CHEM 180 or CHEM 181
- Humanities Gen Ed (3 credits): Courses satisfying this requirement must be taken from the list of Approved General Education Humanities Courses (course type: GHUM).
- Mathematics Gen Ed (3 credits): Courses (except MATH-151) satisfying this requirement must come from the list of Approved General Education Mathematics courses (course type: GMAT). NOTE: MATH-156 is recommended.
- Passing score on TEAS test (Test of Essential Academic Skills)
- Complete a criminal background check through Adam Safeguard.
