Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. Students must receive Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification before taking NSG 290.
  2. Students will apply to the Nursing program during the spring semester of the sophomore year and acceptance decisions will be confirmed after final spring semester grades are submitted.
  3. Students must have successfully completed all related and nursing course requirements before admission to the Nursing program. These courses include:

  1. Students must have a minimum of a 2.8 cumulative GPA for acceptance into the Nursing program.
  2. Students must have a composite ACT score of 20 or higher (22 preferred) with a reading sub score of 20 or higher; or a Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score of proficiency or higher.
  3. Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.7 semester GPA to progress through junior and senior level nursing program coursework.

 

In preparation to meet the CNA certification requirement listed above, we recommend that you contact the local hospitals and/or nursing homes in your area well in advance of enrollment at MMC to find out the locations, costs and frequency of available CNA programs and plan accordingly.
