NURSING PROGRAM
The nursing training program Morgan Community College Students will build entry-level competencies for work in hospitals, clinics as well as other health care functions. It is a five (5) semester training program. Nursing students take part in both classroom training and also supervised patient care encounters, which concentrate on the prevention of disease as well as the campaign of a healthy lifestyle.
Graduates of this training program obtain an Associate of Applied Science ( A .A .A . ) in Nursing, also called an Associate Degree in Nursing ( ADN ) , and are qualified to apply for the National Council Licensure Exam to practice as a Registered Nurse ( RN ) .
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Morgan Community College (MCC) is a 2-year junior college situated in Fort Morgan, Colorado, in the country. It is a member college of the Colorado Community College System. The institution is approved by The Higher Learning Commission Association of Colleges and Schools.
The college’s programs replicate the interests as well as the industry of Colorado’s eastern plains and also include Agriculture, Early Childhood Education , Business Management , Fire Science, Automotive Collision Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Automotive Service Technology, Nursing, Humanities , Physical Therapy Assistant , Radiologic Technology , as well as Welding Technology .
The major campus is situated at 920 Barlow Road in Fort Morgan, near the Fort Morgan Wal-Mart. The campus has 6 major buildings, all called after trees : Aspen Hall , Cedar Hall , Elm Hall , Spruce Hall , Cottonwood Hall , as well as Birch Hall .

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
To be eligible for application to the ADN program, students must have completed the following program prerequisites with a grade of “C” or higher:
- BIO 201 Human Anatomy & Physiology I, 4 credits, must have been taken within the last 7 years
- PSY 235 Human Growth & Development, 3 credits
- ENG 121 English Composition, 3 credits
- HPR 108 Dietary Nutrition, 1 credit
- GPA of 2.5 is required for all of the above listed prerequisites
- Elementary Algebra ACCUPLACER score of 60 or higher, taken within the last 5 years
Morgan Community College uses a competitive admission process for admission to the Nursing Program. Points are awarded based on course grades in BIO 201, (first time completing course only), along with scores on the English language section of the HESI nurse entrance test, prior paid nurse aide work experience, residence in the MCC service area, and previous qualified application to the MCC Nursing Program.
After completing the course prerequisites, students may apply to the Nursing Program. The application period starts mid-January of each year and ends on the last day of February. Applications received by the last day of February will be given priority. Applications may be taken after the end of February until the nursing program is at capacity.
Applicants will be notified by email of the available testing dates and cost of the HESI Nursing Entrance Test.
