Nursing program

They offer a traditional 4-year Baccalaureate Nursing Training program for you to pursue your goals as a nurse. They also offer a BSN completion training program for individuals who are already Registered Nurses (RNs).

During clinical placements, pupils of Miami’s nursing training program benefit from various outstanding experiences in health care systems, including acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation, pediatrics, and also community agencies. Furthermore, the need for nurses is growing at a steady rate.
  • The Division of Nursing is situated on Miami University’s Hamilton and also Middletown campuses.   • Miami University Hamilton is a state-assisted regional campus of Miami University situated in Hamilton, Ohio, United States.
  • The Hamilton campus was established in 1968 during the time of President Phillip Shriver. In June in the year 2013, Miami University’s Board of Trustees endorsed the establishment of an academic division on the regional campuses, the College of Professional Studies and also Applied Sciences.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Admission to the Miami University Nursing program is selective and competitive. Applicants with the best overall qualifications will be offered admission.

Applicants to the traditional BSN program must have a minimum cumulative overall grade point average of 2.7 or above and have completed 12 semester hours of college credits (100 level or higher) at Miami including two of the required sciences (BIO 171, 172, MBI 161, CHM 131) with a minimum grade of “C” or better. Please note there are some Oxford courses that will substitute for the regional campuses courses.

High school students applying to the traditional BSN must meet the minimum criteria

  • Achieved a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  • Complete college prep Chemistry (with lab) and Algebra I and II.
  • Achieved a high school science minimum grade point average of 3.0.
  • Completed either the SAT or ACT college entrance examination. ACT/SAT must be taken no later than December in order for scores to arrive in time for consideration. Minimum requirements:
  • ACT composite score of 23
  • SAT combined score of 1060

Upon admission to the nursing curriculum, there are additional fees added to the tuition and fees set by Miami University. Clinical courses have a $200 per course fee. Students in the traditional 4-yr curriculum have added expenses beyond books each semester, as well as fees to pay for licensing upon graduation
