Nursing Program

The two (2) year Associate Degree Nursing training program at Madison College offers extremely reputed training for in-demand jobs in nursing and health-care. You will learn with experienced nursing professionals in digital classrooms and also modern labs, and build patient care competencies during on-site clinical practicums in area hospitals and also extended care amenities.

Pupils in the Associate Degree Nursing training program can attend regular or even part-time. After passing the NCLEX-RN examination, nursing training program graduates may work as Registered Nurses (RN) in many different health-care functions including clinics, hospitals, doctor’s offices, extended care facilities, home health agencies, and also chosen industrial and business settings.

Associate Degree Nursing training program classes may be offered at these Madison College campuses: Madison – Truax, Fort Atkinson, Reedsburg, and Watertown. The Madison College Nursing (RN) training program is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and endorsed by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

About The School

Madison Area Technical College (Madison College (shortened as MATC)) is a technical and community college based in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It serves pupils in parts of twelve regions in south-central Wisconsin: Adams, Columbia, Dane, Iowa, Dodge, Green, Marquette, Jefferson, Juneau, Rock, Richland, and Sauk. It was established in the year 1912.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  1. Admission Application

The online application allows you to save your work as you complete it and ensures fast, secure delivery to our office.

International students (F-1, M-1 or J-1), out-of-state residents, non-district state residents and Minnesota residents are not eligible for this program due to its early application deadline.

  1. Application Fee

An application fee is required at the time your application is submitted.

  1. Education Completion- Graduation from high school, completion of GED/HSED/GED02, or completion of an associate’s degree or higher is required; submit official transcripts for one of the following:
  • High school or charter school transcript (current high school seniors may submit an in-progress transcript) or GED02 transcript
  • GED/HSED score report
  • College transcript showing an associate degree or higher

Transcripts must show the following course requirements. Only grades of C or better will be accepted; a C- will not be considered.

  1. a) Algebra: One semester of algebra taken in college with a grade of C or better OR satisfactory math test scores (see below). Madison College courses that satisfy this requirement are:
  • Elementary Algebra (10-834-110)
  • College Math (10-804-107)
  • Applied Math for Chemistry (77-854-756) or higher
  1. b) Chemistry: One year of high school chemistry with lab components OR one semester of college-level chemistry with a grade of C or better. Madison College courses that satisfy this requirement are:
  • General Chemistry (10-806-134) or higher
  • High school chemistry classes must be college-preparatory; Chemistry for the Community or similar classes do not satisfy this requirement.
  1. Official Test Scores

Minimum test score requirements for either ATI-TEAS (formerly TEAS-V) or ACT from January 1, 2013 to present must be submitted by the time of petition:

  1. a) ATI-TEAS (formerly TEAS-V): Composite 58.7%, Reading 69%, Math 63.3%, Science 45.8%, English/Language Usage 60%
  2. b) ACT: Composite score of 22 or higher and 20 or higher in all sub-scores
