Nursing program
The Louisiana State University’s nursing department at Alexandria offers all Associate Degree Nursing programs and courses required for preparing experienced health experts. The Associate Degree in Nursing program allows the student to become registered nurses RN by qualifying for the national licensure exam.
It is a two year 72 credit hours course of study with the aim of training seasoned professional that are competent to work in various health care environments.

Louisiana State University of Alexandria also referred to as LSU of Alexandria or LSUA is a public assisted university at the center of the state precisely at Alexandria. This university is renowned for offering undergraduate degrees in many disciplines.
The university is a member of the LSU System and functions under the umbrella of the Louisiana Board of Regents. The University recorded about 3,277 enrollment by the fall of 2016 which is the highest so far in the history of the school.
The Institute is located at the old Oakland Plantation about eight miles down south of Alexandria. The campus houses many magnificent oaks spanning from the nineteenth century.
Total tuition and fees for residents is around $20,000 while that of the non-residents is around $41,800.
Admission Requirements
TEAS is a requirement for admission into nursing clinical. The TEAS exam will test you in areas of reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary & general knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy & physiology, and math.
A minimal score of 60% is required for admission. Students can take the test twice if unsuccessful on the first attempt. All students are encouraged to take the TEAS test in the event that a space becomes available if you are not chosen in the 1st selection. Testing is coordinated through the LSUA testing center.
