Los Angeles Harbor College (LAHC) is one among the two community colleges serving the South Bay region of Los Angeles, United States. Los Angeles Harbor College serves students from Harbor City, Carson, Gardena, San Pedro, Lomita, Wilmington and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It was established in 19949.
Los Angeles Harbor College accommodates over 8,900 students per semester and is situated between Wilmington and Harbor City, the heart of the Los Angeles harbor territory.
Los Angeles Harbor College offers, like most community colleges in the state of California, programs for pupils to eventually transfer to a four years university as well as professional training programs in business and office administration, computer technology, electronics technology and nursing. The College also offers a program for overseas students.
NURSING
The Associate Degree Registered Nursing program at Los Angeles Harbor College (LAHC) has been effectively educating and preparing pupils to become Registered Nurses (RN) since 1963. Our objective is to educate a diverse body of pupils to become secure, skilled, and caring Registered Nurses in an environment of academic and clinical excellence and support. The nursing training program has strong college and community support and also National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rates which surpass national benchmarks.
After the successful completion of prerequisite courses, the Registered Nursing program is four semesters in duration. The training program integrates theoretical instruction in the classroom with little team discussions and clinical experiences in hospitals, home health-care agencies, and other functions in the community. Students also have chances to take part in simulated clinical experiences and also practice clinical competencies in the state-of-the-art simulation and also nursing skills laboratories.

*Sciences: An overall GPA ≥ 2.5 for above science courses, with no grade less than a “C” (not “C-”), and no more than ONE repetition of any one of these courses.

- The new ATI TEAS will be used. The ATI TEAS is a computerized multiple-choice assessment of basic academic knowledge in reading, mathematics, science and English and language usage.
- If the number of eligible applicants still exceed number of vacancies, a random lottery will be conducted to determine the incoming class.
Eligible LVNs who have successfully completed 329A/329B, 311, and 321 are accepted into the program based on space availability.
- Repeats: No more than ONE repeat in the sciences.
- Graduation for an accredited U.S. high school or equivalent.
