March 27, 2017 by GREGORY Leave a Comment

Nursing Program

The Associate Degree Nursing training program grooms graduates to function as registered nurses in hospitals, nursing homes, and other health-care organizations. Registered nurses promote health for clients via hygienic care; assessment of body systems; teaching; implementation of the nursing process, together with treatment modalities ordered by the physician; and rehabilitative care.

Upon completion of the training program, the graduate is qualified to take the NCLEX examination for licensure as a registered nurse (RN).

About The School

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is a community college situated in the city of Elyria in Lorain County, Ohio, United States Of America, which is a part of the Greater Cleveland region. Its motto is “Real education for a real future.”

It was toured by the former U.S. President Barack Obama in January 2010 and also April 2012. Lorain County Community College was the very first community college to display a fabrication lab, the “Fab Lab,” on its campus. It was established in the year 1963.

Total estimated program cost is USD $20,120

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Complete the LCCC Application for Admission.
  • Complete the Placement assessment.
  • Official high school or GED and college/program transcripts (if applicable) on file in the LCCC Records office
  • A program application form on file
  • A GPA of 2.5 or higher on all completed college-level coursework (including transfer/transient courses)
  • High school chemistry or equivalent (CHMY 161) with a grade of C or better
  • BIOG 121: Anatomy and Physiology I with a grade of C or better
  • PSYH 151: Introduction to Psychology or equivalent with a grade of C or better
  • MTHM 168: Statistics or equivalent with a grade of C or better
  • A minimum composite score of 75 on the HESI (A2) exam

If you are transferring from another college or university, the Records office should receive all transcripts at least 12 weeks before you complete a program application. This ensures that the processing of non-LCCC transcripts is completed well in advance of specific Allied Health and Nursing program application deadlines
