Nursing program

  • The BSN Degree Training program at Lewis–Clark State College is a dynamic baccalaureate training program with a fundamental/basic Track and also completion tracks for presently Licensed Practical (LPN) and also Registered Nurses (RN).
  • The RN to BSN Track is offered in a web-based structure. The BSN pupil will develop and also expand knowledge and competencies delineated by the professional nurse positions of the provider of care, designer/manager/coordinator of care, and also associate of the profession. Pupils take part in selected learning activities to build an understanding of the art and science of nursing. The training program provides an educational basis for continued nursing study at the graduate level. Graduates of the Basic Track meet the requirements to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
  • The training program is endorsed by the Idaho Board of Nursing and also certified by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Be currently enrolled as a student at LCSC. Not enrolled? Apply Now!
  • Complete all General Education Core Requirements
  • An overall 2.0 GPA in core courses is required (LCSC college policy)
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (based on a 4.0 scale).
  • Cumulative GPA is based on completed coursework from all colleges and universities attended.
  • Have a minimum Science/Stats GPA of 2.75 (based on a 4.0 scale) Calculate your GPA
  • Combined GPA of 2.75 or higher in: BIOL 252 & 253, CHEM 105, BIOL 250, PSYC 300
  • Complete Pre-Requisite Courses with “C” grade or better in each course
  • Complete the HESI A² Admission Assessment Exam, Minimum score of 75% required
  • LCSC Testing Center: February 28th or September 30th deadline (whichever comes first)
  • Distance Site (ProMetric): February 22nd or September 22nd deadline (whichever comes first)
  • Be Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or LCSC Equivalency
  • Assess equivalency of transfer courses
  • Students with English as a second language must meet miminum English requirements

Pre-Application Requirements RN-BSN

  • Be currently enrolled as a student at LCSC. Not enrolled? Apply Now!
  • Complete all General Education Core Requirements
  • Complete or be currently taking a Statistics course (PSYC 300 or MATH 253) or equivalent and pass with “C” or better.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5; measured using all completed coursework from all colleges and universities attended. Calculate your GPA
  • Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Assess equivalency of transfer courses
  • Students with English as a second language must meet miminum English requirements

LPN to BSN Track

  • Have graduated from a regionally accredited college with a A.A.S. or A.S. degree
  • Have an active and unencumbered license to practice as a practical nurse
  • Be currently enrolled as a student at LCSC. Not enrolled? Apply Now!
  • Complete all General Education Core Requirements
  • An overall 2.0 GPA in core courses is required (LCSC college policy)
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (based on a 4.0 scale). Calculate your GPA
  • Cumulative GPA is based on completed coursework from all colleges and universities attended.
  • Complete Pre-Requisite Courses with “C” grade or better in each course
