Nursing program
The Associate in Applied Science in nursing program is planned to prepare students for entry-level positions as registered nurses. After successful completion of the ADN program, graduates are qualified to take the license exam to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Each class of nursing students is known as a cohort (group), and courses/schedules are allotted. Graduates of the ADN program are eligible to enter the numerous BSN completion programs available.
About the school
Kirtland Community College is a public-funded, two-year community college situated in Roscommon County, Michigan in the United States.
Kirtland is endorsed by the Michigan Commission on College Accreditation and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The College also holds membership in the American Association of Community Colleges and Michigan Community College Association. The Higher Learning Commission approved Kirtland Community College status as a candidate for accreditation in 1972, and the college has been qualified as an associate degree-granting institution since 1975. The college is named after the Kirtland’s warbler.
Established in 1966 under the stipulations of Michigan’s Public Act 188 of 1955, it is the state’s major community college district geographically comprising of all or part of nine counties.
Kirtland unlocked the doors of its five convenient classrooms in 1968 with 160 students. Financial Backing for the original land acquisition came from residents with bond incentives.

- Choose one Anatomy & Physiology sequence.
A minimum grade of “B” is required in each course.
- BIO 23500 Anatomy & Physiology I4 cr. and
- BIO 23600 Anatomy & Physiology II4 cr.
- or
- BIO 25000 Human Anatomy4 cr. and
- BIO 25100 Human Physiology4 cr.
- ENG 10303 English Composition I3 cr.
- A minimum grade of “C” is required.
- MTH 12000 Intermediate Algebra4 cr. or MTH120PR or MTH 20600 Application in Statistics 4 cr. A minimum grade of “C” is required.
- PSY 10100 Intro to Psychology3 cr.
- A minimum grade of “C” is required.
