Kent State University ADN-RN Nursing Program Prerequisites & Reviews

Nursing Program

The curriculum for the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Training program at Kent State University was built to fulfill today’s challenging health-care needs. The 67 required credit hours of coursework can be fulfilled in two (2) years on a regular basis. The focus of the curriculum is on the registered nurse’s position in communities, hospitals, clinics, home healthcare and also gerontology, with a focus on direct care.

Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates are honored an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree and are qualified to apply and take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Kent State University (KSU) is a public research university in Kent, Ohio, United States Of America. The institution also comprises of 7 regional campuses in Northeast Ohio and other facilities in the region and also internationally.

Regional campuses are situated in Ashtabula, Burton, Jackson Township, East Liverpool, New Philadelphia, Salem, and Warren, Ohio, United States, with other amenities in Cleveland, Independence, and also Ohio, Twinsburg, New York City, and also Florence in Italy.

Kent State University (KSU) was founded in 1910 as an institution for training public school teachers. It was a part of the Lowry Bill which also established a sister school in Bowling Green, Ohio – currently referred to as Bowling Green State University.

Total estimated program cost is USD $19,565

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Apply to the Kent State University Regional Campus of choice (which includes having all transcripts from high school, previous college-level and technical coursework sent for evaluation).
  • Complete the developmental coursework as prescribed by your placement assessment.
  • Complete high school or college-level algebra, biology and chemistry.
  • Meet with the ADN program representative.
  • Achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher.

 

LPN-ADN TRACK

  • Apply to Kent State University Regional Campus of choice (which includes having all official transcripts from high school, previous college-level and technical coursework sent for evaluation).
  • Take the placement test.
  • Meet with an ADN program representative.
  • A cumulative college GPA of 2.7 or higher is also required for admissions consideration.
  • Complete the developmental coursework as prescribed by your placement assessment.
  • Complete the college courses required for admission to the LPN to ADN option.
