Nursing Program.
The Associate Degree Nursing Program at the Kennebec Valley Community College prepares students for entry-level spots in the nursing career. Completion of the ADN Program certifies graduates to obtain an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) which then qualifies them for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).

The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Kennebec Valley Community College is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

About The School

Kennebec Valley Community College is an institution member of the Maine Community College System, located on a sixty-four-acre campus in Fairfield, Maine. A second campus is also coming at Harold Alfond, on 600 acres of land in Hinckley on a section of property formerly owned by the Good Will-Hinckley School.

Kennebec Valley Community College was structured in 1969 by the 104th Maine Legislature, and first classes began in 1970, with 35 full-time and 131 part-time students. Since then, KVCC has undergone several changes and has developed to an enrollment of over 2,500 full and part-time students enrolled in credit courses. Also, KVCC provides a comprehensive program of industry outreach programs and continuing education courses and business.

The College has the full accreditation of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. and provides more than 30 degree, certificate programs, and diploma.

Tuition and fees: $6,690.00

Total Cost In-State On-Campus: $9,550.00

Total Cost Out-State On-Campus: $14,950.00

 

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Required Academic Standing

Cumulative Grade Point Average Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 required.

PAX-RN Exam

 May be taken a total of three (3) times (Original test session plus 2 re-takes)

 Each re-take includes all subtest sections and may only be taken after a 45 day waiting period.

Minimum Composite Score Percentile Rank 70th percentile

Minimum Verbal Percentile Rank 50th percentile

Minimum Math Percentile Rank 50th percentile

Minimum Science Percentile Rank 50th percentile

Nursing (NUR) Admission Requirements

Nursing Program Orientation Session

Upon successful completion of the above academic admission requirements, you will receive an acceptance letter. You must then attend the mandatory NUR Orientation Session usually scheduled for mid-May. You will be notified of the date for this session by Marcia Parker (Nursing Department Chair). Failure to attend this required session within two (2) months of your acceptance will jeopardize your admission status.
