Nursing Program
The Associate of Science in Nursing program offers a route for students who want to achieve the status of RN registered nurses.
The curriculum focuses on critical thinking, appraisal and therapeutic communication skills, health promotion and preservation, and proficient nursing care. Students are trained on how to administer medication and treatment to patients.
The program includes the study of general principles of biological, physical, psychological, and social sciences. It encourages participation in clinical experiences, which offer the hands-on training needed to succeed in this field.
Upon completion of the program, students are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN exam for licensure to practice as a registered nurse RN. Graduates are also eligible for entry-level nursing positions in settings such as hospitals, physicians’ offices, clinics, and home health care agencies. Graduates may also choose to proceed with Keiser University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

The Melbourne campus offers departments with full-time staff members for assistance which include admissions, academic affairs, administration and student financial services.
Other amenities include large classrooms, a student lounge area, computer and medical labs, a library with computer workstations, modern kitchen and banquet facilities for our culinary arts programs and student services and career center. We also provide on-site parking at this campus!

Prerequisites for the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing program include background checks and drug screenings when applicable. Students must also have successfully completed the Wonderlic and TEAS test and a personal interview with the Nursing Program Director. A minimum grade of “C” for general education courses is a requirement.
