Nursing program
The Associate Degree Nursing program at Kankakee Community College is designed to equip the student to practice nursing at an elementary level. Nursing courses are an amalgamation of classroom and clinical experiences. Clinical experiences take place in a range of settings. Hours of clinical experience differ depending on the course content. Successful graduates of this program are qualified to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

About the school
Kankakee Community College (KCC) is a public two-year institution of higher learning situated in Kankakee, north-eastern Illinois. The permanent campus is situated on the southern boundary of the city of Kankakee and covers 178 acres along the Kankakee River banks.
KCC has the accreditation of the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges. The college was established in 1966 and offered its first classes in 1968.
Since then till date, it has served as a vocational, educational, and recreational center for residents of Community College District 520, an area covering all or part of Ford, Kankakee, Livingston, Iroquois, Grundy, and Will counties. The school serves a population of about 150,000.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:
Office of Admissions and Registration requirements: All Items must be on file by HESI A2 testing deadline.
❒ KCC Admissions Form/Acceptance Letter.
❒ Official high school transcript or official GED ONLY IF student is planning on utilizing Financial Aid.
❒ Official transcripts from colleges in which you are intending to use previously completed credit for eligibility/degree requirements. Failure to submit and have transcripts evaluated could disqualify you from consideration.
❒ Transcript Evaluation form on file in Admissions and Registration. Academic eligibility requirements: Requirements must be completed before an applicant is allowed to take the HESI A2. Coursework final grade must be a “C” or higher. Chemistry Meet or be *in progress with the BIOL 2644 prerequisites if you have not already completed API:
❒ One year **high school chemistry
❒ One semester college chemistry *In progress coursework must be confirmed via Colleague / (un)official transcript with current semester **conceptual chemistry is not a qualifying chemistry Math Score at the MATH 1424 level or complete required foundation level coursework:
❒ Completed MATH 1414 Test scores as follows (within the last 4 years):
❒ ACT Math ≥ 20 ❒ ACCUPLACER Elem. Algebra ≥ 72 ❒ One year high school algebra, only if chemistry requirement was also completed in high school Reading Score at the ENGL 1613 level or complete the required foundation level coursework:
❒ Completed ENGL 1413 and Read 0963/Read 1484 Test scores as follows (within the last 4 years): ❒ ACT Writing ≥ 20 ❒ ACT Reading ≥ 22 ❒ ACCUPLACER Reading ≥ 80+ IDPH certified C.N.A course Meet or be *in progress with: ❒ PNUR 1438 or equivalent IDPH approved course *
