Nursing program

  • Jacksonville University (JU) is a non-public institution in Jacksonville, Florida, United States Of America.
  • The university was established in 1934 as a two-year college and also was referred to as Jacksonville Junior College until September 5, in the year 1956, when it shifted concentration to constructing four-year university degree programs and also later graduated its very first four-year degree students from Jacksonville University in June 1959.
  • The institution was established in the year 1934 by William J. Porter. Formerly referred to as William J. Porter University, it started as a private two-year school.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

Admission requirement

  • Online Application
  • Official transcripts from all institutions
  • Three Letters of Recommendations (excluding First Time Freshmen applicants)

Freshman Acceptance Option (Fall):

  • High School gpa of 3.5 weighted core
  • B or better in Algebra II, Biology, and Chemistry
  • SAT score of 1100 on old SAT or 1170 on new SAT or ACT score of 24 or higher

Traditional (Fall, Spring):

The following course requirements may be in progress when applying to the University but need to be completed by the anticipated entry term.

  • Minimum overall cumulative gpa of 2.5 or higher
  • Associate of Arts degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology II
  • General Chemistry with lab
  • Microbiology with lab
  • Human Nutrition
  • Human Growth & Development
  • Statistics

Second Degree Seeking (Summer):

The following requirements may be in progress when applying to the University but need to be completed by the anticipated entry term.

  • Minimum overall cumulative gpa of 2.5 or higher
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution

  • Human Anatomy & Physiology II
