Nursing program

The Associate in Applied Science – Nursing (ADN) program comprises of combined lectures, clinicals and labs conducted in authorized clinical agencies.

The program trains students to show competency in providing nursing care in different healthcare settings and for employment in the registered nursing field.

Candidates who complete the ADN program are qualified to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX-RN). Passing the NCLEX-RN is mandated to become licensed as a professional registered nurse (RN).

About the school

Jackson College is a college situated in Jackson County, Michigan. Initially established as Jackson Junior College in 1928, Jackson County member of the electorate voted to reincorporate the institution as a Community College District under the “Public Act 188 of 1955” in 1962. In 1964 voters authorized a charter millage that keeps on indefinitely funding the college. In June 2013, the board of directors permitted an official name change from Jackson Community College to Jackson College, eliminating the word “community.”

The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Jackson College since 1933, and the college offers 48 associate degrees, certificate programs, and transfer options to Michigan and Jackson County residents.

Today, Jackson College has an annual enrollment of about10,000 students between its several locations as well as online programs.

 

Jackson College’s Central Campus provides student housing facilities, making it one of only a handful of community colleges in Michigan to offer student housing. The college has a different Division II athletic programs, including baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, cross country and softball.
