Nursing program

  • Indiana University Northwest (also shortened as IU Northwest) is a regional university campus in the Indiana University system in Gary, Indiana, United States, founded in the year 1963.
  • IU Northwest is situated on a 36-acre campus in the northwest corner of the state. Class sizes average thirty students, and the faculty-student ratio is 1:14.
  • Programs, part-time and regular, are taught during days, evenings, and also weekends, and lead to certificates and also Associate, Bachelor’s, and also master’s There are over 170 regular and over 200 part-time faculties, over 75% of whom have doctorates or the highest degree available in their field.

Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

  • Applying online and paying the $35.00 application fee by credit or debit card.

  • Current high school Seniors must also submit SAT and/or ACT test scores
  • SAT – IU Northwest School Code – 1388
  • ACT – IU Northwest Code – 1218
  • Acceptance into the nursing program requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and a minimum pre-nursing GPA of 2.7.
  • 26-28 hours of prerequisite courses (C or better) completed prior to application for nursing program.
  • W131 Elementary Composition
  • P261/P262 Anatomy and Physiology I and II (within 7 years of program admission)
  • P101 or P102 Introductory Psy chology
  • S161 Principles of Sociology
  • M100 Elementary Algebra (or higher level math excluding Math A110). We also do not accept Math A100 or M117.
  • C110 Chemist ry of Life (within 7 years of program admission)
