Nursing program

The Traditional Baccalaureate Degree at Idaho State University is ideal to the pupil looking for the first degree in nursing. The Traditional training program provides learning possibilities for undergraduate students in classroom, and clinical settings to develop students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX) to obtain licensure as a professional registered nurse (RN). Earning a BS degree in nursing from ISU requires pupils to get 120 credits which are completed over at least 4-years. Students take general education and also nursing prerequisite courses their initial two years at the Institution.
The accelerated program- is suitable for individuals who have already obtained a baccalaureate degree in a field beside Pupils complete required courses leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and also upon graduation meet the requirements to take the RN Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Students complete the accelerated training program in three (3) successive semesters.
BS Completion Program- This is a program suitable for Registered Nurses who want to complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Pupils may make application in fall or perhaps spring. Pre-requisite courses must be fulfilled before the student makes application to the BS Completion training program

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) – The “BSN Program Percentile Rank” score is used for admission ranking. Please note we require 60.0% minimum Adjusted Individual Total Score to determine eligibility; this score is NOT used for the admission ranking

Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Prospective nursing majors must have a minimum combined GPA of 3.0 in the Set A prerequisite courses listed below to be eligible to apply to the nursing program.
Applicants must also complete the Set A and Set B prerequisite courses listed below, or equivalents, with a grade of “C” (75 percent) or better.
The required minimum combined 3.0 GPA must be maintained following completion of Set B courses. Failure to do so will result in revocation of program admission.

For BS Completion Program Applicants:

Prospective nursing majors must have a minimum combined GPA of 3.0 in 20 of the 38 credits of prerequisite courses listed below combined with their ADN nursing-specific courses to be eligible to apply to the nursing program. Applicants must also complete the prerequisite courses listed below, or equivalents, with a grade of “C” (75 percent) or better. At least 20 credits of prerequisite courses must be completed at the time the application is submitted. Remaining prerequisite courses must be completed before starting in the nursing program, but not necessarily before the application is submitted. The required minimum combined 3.0 GPA must be maintained following completion of remaining prerequisite courses.
