Q. Does this sound like hydrocephalus to anyone? I have a bulge in the lower rear of my skull, it feels like a bone. I have constant headaches in that spot, leg pains, some earaches, leg pains, my neuro doc first said it was hydrocephalus, now its Chiari Malformation, which is it? I’m going to the neurosurgeon to get an opinion, but this is driving me crazy. Sounds like hydrocephalus to me.
.
A. Anold Chiari malformation is simply the cerebellum that grows towards magnum foramen, constricting the spinal cord. This constriction not only causes neurological deficits but also impedes the flow of cerebral spinal fluid causing hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus means CSF accumlation in the brain either due to compromized empting, flow or overproduction.
