Following are the minimum requirements for BSN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

1) Have a minimum all college GPA of 3.0. Note: The Nursing Department calculates the all college GPA based on all courses taken and does not forgive grades for courses that have been repeated.

2) Score a minimum composite score of 70th percentile on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), a scholastic aptitude test consisting of four content areas (Math, Reading, English, and Science). You may retake the TEAS exam if you fail to score 70.

3) Have an overall nursing science and math pre-requisite GPA of 3.0. The science and math pre-requisite GPA is calculated by using the grades of all applicable science and math pre-requisite courses and includes repeated applicable pre-requisite courses. Note: The Nursing Department calculates the math and science pre-requisite GPA based on all courses taken and does not forgive grades for courses that have been repeated.

4) Have no more than 2 outstanding pre-requisite courses at the time of application. Lecture and lab combination courses such as anatomy and physiology or microbiology are considered one pre-requisite course. All pre-requisite course work must be completed by December 31 for spring admission and July 2for fall admission to the nursing program.

5) Complete all science and math pre-requisite courses (see below) no later than the semester prior to the start of the nursing program. All students who have not completed all science and math pre-requisite courses at the time of application to the nursing program will be conditionally admitted to the program pending successful completion of the outstanding science and math pre-requisite coursework. If a conditionally accepted applicant does not complete the pre-requisite science and math coursework prior to the start of the nursing program or if an applicant’s overall or pre-requisite GPA falls below 3.0, then the applicant’s admission to the nursing program is forfeit and the applicant will have to reapply to the nursing program for a subsequent semester.

6) If you have prior nursing course credits from any college or university, you must upload a letter of good standing from the Dean, Director or Department Chair of the nursing program. The letter of good standing must include both academic, with a minimum nursing GPA overall GPA of 3.0, and professional good standing.
