Pupils in the Associate Degree Nursing Training program are tutored the knowledge and also competencies required to work with patients and also their families in many different healthcare functions.

Following are the minimum requirements for ADN-RN Nursing Program. Minimum admission standards include:

• Application Form– Must be typed and printed from hccs.edu/media/houston communitycollege/coleman-college/pdfs/201507 – health_sciences_application
• Proof of Program Session attendance
• Official college transcript showing completion of required courses (unofficial from HCC is acceptable)
• Prerequisite GPA of 3.00 or higher
• HESI Scores (TEAS exam scores not accepted)- A score of 80% or higher on each of the following subject areas is required: A&P, Grammar, Math, and Reading. A score of 800 or higher is required on the Critical Thinking section.
• Required only if new to college or transferring to HCC with less than 12 college level credits- HPRS 1201 or EDUC 1300 or LEAD 1370
• Completion of the following courses with a minimum grade of ‘C’ upon application submission
  • ENGL 1301 – English Composition I
  • PSYC 2301 – Introduction to Psychology
  • BIOL 2301/2101 (formerly BIOL 2401) – Anatomy & Physiology I* (LEC/LAB)
  • BIOL 2320/2120 (formerly BIOL 2420) – Microbiology* (LEC/LAB) (Successful
  • completion of BIOL 1406 – General Biology is required for enrollment in Microbiology)

LVN- ADN TRANSITION
